Visit meine-buecher.chMeine-Buecher is a web app for building a virtual library. You can track which books you own and which ones you want, then share that library with family or friends so they know what you already have — and do not buy you the same book twice.
Add books by scanning barcodes and placing them in your library or wishlist. Rate books and write reviews to keep your own opinion on record. If you lend a book to someone, you can note who borrowed it and when.

Book metadata is crowd-sourced: users can suggest corrections or improvements to book information. Suggested changes are reviewed and must be approved by a moderator or admin before they go live.
The web app is built with my Geruest C++ framework and uses PostgreSQL for persistent storage.
A REST API backs the website and will also power a planned Android app for simpler day-to-day interaction.
The Android app will keep a local offline copy of the user's library and sync with the central database when online, so browsing and managing your collection works without a constant connection.
